Looks like a good excuse to buy a new pair of boots!

What is so great about sleeping in a water-logged tent, walking uphill at an elevation of 8,000 feet, "roughing it" as you've never done before, and finding that elusive tree along the road just in time?  Everything!  A wagon train trip on the Oregon Trail with quilters, quilt historian Terry Thompson, horses, new friends, beautiful scenery, and revisiting history.

A week spent along the Oregon Trail was a dream of many years finally coming true, just to be in the spots where the pioneers were, seeing the country they saw, experiencing some of their hardships (admittedly, nothing like they did!) but at least it gave me a sense of what it must have been like for women pioneers 150+- years ago.

One of my newest programs is "Quilting on the Oregon Trail,"  complete with photos, stories, costumes, and heartfelt experiences.   My other new program is "Quilting and Cruising," relating the creation of the Inaugural Quilt for Crystal Cruise Lines' newest ship, Serenity.  Some might say these two programs, which relate my latest travel experiences the first few months of 2004, go from the sublime to the ridiculous -- and they'd be right.  And how wonderful it has been!  I look forward to sharing the stories of these trips with you.
